5 Replies to Airport Pilihan di Alor Setar
Parking = per entry rm3. Overnight rm 10. Parking security can be improve.
Overall = the facility is poorly maintain. But (to my surprise) airport toilet were clean and tidy.
Indeed a neighbourhood airport with no frills, stress free and easy one. Do not expect much to do here besides starbucks, old town coffee and some stores. Short term visitor parking is literally free here while overnight parking is not expensive either. Airport has a great view looking out.
Do not schedule departure or arrivals between 5pm to 8pm. It’s a nightmare getting here. Most Grab won’t entertain during this period and they expect you to cancel the booking. The airline company offers good rate during this timing but some have missed their flights due to the traffic.
Security staff is polite. There are two toilets and two prayer rooms in front of gate 1 and 3 respectively.
Disappointing. It was stated online that the airport opens for 24 hours. We came down early for an 8.30am flight only to find the airport super empty. Called the call centre, and we were told that the airport only opens at 6.30am.
So we questioned on why it was stated as 24 hours on Google and how can the airport only opens at 6.30am when our boarding time would be at 7.50am, and what more we have bags to check in, and the one on the call hotline simply said that this should be between us and the airline, but what does the airline got to do with the airport opening hours?
