The place is new and Frank Laurent is running the cafe portion. FL food was good (Salmon Sandwich Rm19) & the Cafe Latte… it’s Cafe Latte. How could it ever go wrong. On the Library wise, I only see 4 units of iPad (not sure if I missed any) rest of the place is filled with tables & seats. Very quiet place to chill except lunch time FL is doing quite fine ??
The space here is limited about 40-50 people..table are placed outside too if inside too cold..tablet and laptop also can borrow but need to ask the staff there..cuma wifi laa kejap ada kejap tkde, boleh kena upgrade..
Space is limited but quite cosy.
The only annoying thing and made my 2 star rating is that the library did not have any noise barrier to separate it from the cafe just meters away with so much echo and reverberance noise.
How come the so-called library is so noisy? I don’t understand why the entrance is an open design structure without any enclosure to separate it with the cafe.
Penang state government can do better!
Few people using so easy to find a spot whatever time of the day you go. Wifi not so stable. At first I thought it’s just my laptop, but it happens across other devices too. Hope the wifi gets fixed soon.
My review is solely for the environment. I would not recommend this library for working or study purposes even though it’s a library. I still prefer a digital library at Masjid Negeri, beside the free school. Still can focus without noise versus here. It’s weird that cafe connected to the library without any partition, neither door. Imagine how noisy it is leverage with food’s smell. For me, this is not a library at all. The ambience same like you are visiting a normal cafe ya. For those Penangites who read my review, whenever you visit a library, please keep in your mind that the library is a place to study, read, or work. But yeah, I can’t blame low EQ people who don’t have commonsense and ethics in a library. It’s the management who needs to figure out how to make it a condusive place for us.
