JakaAnd i get not having self-checkout counters. It was tried before several years ago. But it’s not fool proof for customers as evident in other outlets. Cashier still has to help out. Very limited choice of products. Either there’s no stock of a specific item or they over stock that one item. Eg, looking for original flavoured nuggets by Meadows but they only have spicy flavoured. Otherwise, it’s alright to get basics like bread, eggs, rice etc… Also try to avoid going if you see this one particular cashier. A line will always form especially when she’s the only one there. Regular customers might know who. If there are other cashiers around, go to them instead. If you really have to, just make sure there’s only a few customers around. Otherwise might be faster to go to another supermarket.

Sheng Siong Punggol is very spacious and neatly arranged. very crowded place all time making shopping there a real pleasure. The staff are very helpful, willing to help when one enquire about the whereabouts of certain things even though they are busy. It’s a pleasure shopping there.

For this supermarket outlet, they have a wide range of grocery. I was very suprised to see some items that are not commonly found in other supermarket chains. They also have a very good range of fresh produce.
Pricing are cheaper compare to the rest. So it is a good deal. Only downside is that their walk space is quite narrow. So its very hard to move around.
Operate 24hours daily. You can avoid the crowd and come later in the night.
24hr market, cheap and good. Always come here for grocery.
Cashiers and floor staffs are helpful and friendly.

“I visited this outlet with my 1-year-old since I had no other option but to take my child along. I bought chicken and requested the staff to cut it, but he was extremely rude—rather, I’d say he was mocking me. He said to come back after 1 hour because it was busy. I got confused because there was no one else there except me at the moment, so I wondered, ‘One hour for what?’ The moment I decided to leave, his colleague said, ‘Give it to me, I will cut it for you.’ So, I asked, ‘Why did the other guy say one hour?’ He simply said, ‘Ignore him, he was joking.’ What? A joke? Scaring a woman who is carrying a baby and making her feel like she has to wait for one hour is a joke? The owner needs to take action regarding this.”
Typical Sheng Siong set up. Everything you need is available here. Fresh fishes, vegetable, fruits and all necessary household items. Do not expect any fancy foreign import items though, most items available here are from Malaysia or China, affordable and reasonable prices. Place is a bit cramp, so be patient and enjoy yourself, staff are all very helpful and kind.
